草榴社区 scholarship aims for more low-income students in STEM

A new million-dollar grant will support low-income students interested in engineering.

The National Science Foundation awarded Western Washington University a STEM grant intended to help students pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree in one of the university鈥檚 three engineering programs.

It鈥檚 aimed at addressing challenges in recruiting and retaining academically talented, low-income students from diverse backgrounds.

It will provide scholarships of up to $10,000 a year to nearly 50 students, known as the , over the next five years.
