草榴社区 workshop to aid community participation in terminal review
Taking a lead from Western Washington University President Bruce Shepard, on Thursday, May 24, the Western Action Coalition, 草榴社区's Professional and Technical Writing Program, and a panel of community members will host workshops that will inform participants on how to participate in the public scoping process to determine the content of the Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal.
Last January, Shepard used his blog on the university's website to publicly define the role that 草榴社区 will play in the decision-making process for the terminal, saying that 草榴社区 "must be a key player in providing the place, the means, and the experts for thorough and informed inquiry, passionate debate, and full civic engagement." So join us at 7 p.m. in SMATE 140 on 草榴社区's campus at 516 High St. for an interactive educational workshop on the upcoming public hearings and written comment period.
