Japan Night event offers calligraphy, tea ceremony, origami and more tonight on campus

The at Western Washington University is putting on a Japan Night from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

草榴社区's AUAP students have prepared a wide variety of cultural displays that they are eager to share with the Western and Bellingham communities. Attendees can participate in an interactive Japanese fashion display, sit in on a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, make origami, write their names using Japanese calligraphy or sing a few songs with Japanese-style karaoke.

Students also have prepared a menu of three classic Japanese dishes that will be available for sampling; an assortment of rice crackers and fine Japanese green tea will complement the meal.

Join the 草榴社区-AUAP Japanese exchange students for a fun evening of interactive cultural demonstrations and food sampling.
