Looking to improve student-homeowner housing relations, 草榴社区 student group takes Bellingham rental survey

Western Washington University student group Viking Community Builders is surveying everyone renting in Bellingham to get a picture of area rental conditions. The group plans to take the results before the Bellingham City Council.

The rental housing survey is online at聽. Faculty and staff are also invited to participate.

According to , the group is an Associated Students club seeking to foster positive and respectful relations between Western students and long-term Bellingham residents.

In the past, the group has engaged in community service activities and hosted a landlord licensing forum. This year, while these initiatives will be attended to, the focus will be more on increasing student involvement in neighborhood events and neighborhood associations.

The group meets every other Wednesday at 4 p.m. on the stage in the Underground Coffeehouse on campus.
