Markworth was asked a couple of years ago by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics to write two volumes of seasonal problem-solving tasks that align with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. She recruited a couple other math educators at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, to work with her.
The second volume (with tasks aligned to grades 3 to 5) should be released by April 2016.
