Meet the Internal Audit Department
Priya Sall serves as the executive director of the Internal Audit Department at Western.
Internal Audit plays a critical role at Western as an independent, objective assurance and consulting department designed to add value and improve university operations.
The executive director coordinates various audit functions to support the university鈥檚 needs, including creating and managing a program to deliver financial, operational, performance, and compliance audits as needed. The position reports directly to the Board of Trustees and is managed administratively by the President.
Priya joined Western in July 2022 as the senior internal auditor for the department. She served as the interim executive director since December 2023 and was appointed to the department's permanent position of executive director in September 2024. Priya earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance from Western and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Before coming to Western, Priya spent six years at the Washington State Auditor鈥檚 Office.
Christy Fazio joined Western in April 2024 as the senior internal auditor. She earned a master's degree in Business Administration from Western and is a Certified Public Accountant. Before coming to Western, Christy was an Assistant State Auditor with the State Auditor鈥檚 Office.
