Money available to help undergrads pursue research and creative projects

Money is available to help undergraduate students at Western Washington University pursue research and creative activities projects.

The funds provide encouragement for undergrads to engage in creative work in their disciplines. Grant applications are due to department chairs on April 19; the competition is open to any registered undergraduate student in good standing.

Grants will normally be awarded in the range of $100 to $500 per project. The program is designed to support individual student projects only. Application forms are available in the offices of the deans and chairs and on the .

Proposals will be reviewed by a faculty committee appointed by the vice provost. At the end of the project, a brief written final report must be prepared by the student and submitted to his/her faculty mentor with a copy to the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. In addition, each student should be prepared to present an oral or poster presentation of the results in an appropriate forum.

The VPUE solicits proposals for consideration early in every fall, winter and spring quarter, depending on funding availability.
