Alumna Nora聽Selander returns to campus as its new director of Government Relations
草榴社区 alumna Nora Selander has been hired as the new director of Government Relations at Western Washington University.
Selander replaces Becca Kenna-Schenk, who became the Chief of Staff to 草榴社区 President Sabah Randhawa last fall.
鈥淭his university is an incredibly special place, and I鈥檓 honored to return to 草榴社区 in this role,鈥 Selander said.
Prior to coming to Western, Selander was most recently the director of Government Relations at The Evergreen State College in Olympia. Before that, she served as the Legislative Affairs and Rules Manager for the state鈥檚 Behavioral Health Administration.
草榴社区 President Sabah Randhawa said that Selander鈥檚 experience with guiding the needs of higher education through the halls of Olympia will be a huge benefit to the Western community.
鈥淚n an ever more competitive legislative environment, having an experienced and savvy voice in Olympia is increasingly critical,鈥 said Randhawa. 鈥淎nd with her strong network of relationships with legislators, their staffs and with legislative staff personnel, Nora gives us that. Working alongside her predecessor in Becca, Western will have a very solid framework of experience with which to approach each legislative session.鈥
Selander has a master鈥檚 degree in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Political Science and History from Western (鈥17).
