Welcome new students to Western at annual ceremony Wednesday

The Western Washington University campus community is invited to be a part of the excitement and energy of welcoming new students to Western on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The formal program, which begins at 7 p.m., will include words of welcome by President Bruce Shepard, Associated Students President Belina Seare, faculty speaker Associate Professor Trula Nicholas, and Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services Eileen Coughlin.

At the conclusion of the formal program, students will walk through a "human corridor" made up of volunteers during the traditional procession from the Performing Arts Center to the steps of Old Main. The corridor will form at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the PAC Plaza. A fireworks display will conclude the program.
