The Western Washington University community should be aware of a phishing scam going on. Someone purporting to be one of our former students is sending emails asking for financial help after having been “attacked” in a foreign country and having everything stolen (money, bank cards, passport, other ID etc.)  The email account being used has been compromised and the former Western student, the actual owner of the account, has not been attacked, is fine and is not even traveling at this time.
