Summerstart brings thousands of new students and their families to campus

Summerstart, Western Washington University’s advising, registration and orientation program for new freshman students, is being held now on campus through Aug. 18.

Participants register for one of eight two-day session blocks. More than 2,400 new students and 1,200 family members are registered to attend.

The program features academic advising and support, class registration, informative workshops and peer-led orientation sessions about Western and campus life. An extensive information fair for students and families to become more familiar with Western’s services and resources is held in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.
