Professor Abedi Receives Award from the German Federal Foreign Office
Julia Reinhardt, Consul for Cultural and Press Affairs at the German Consulate General in San Francisco, recently visited Western to present an award from Deutschland Magazine to Political Science Department Chair Amir Abedi. The magazine is published by the German Federal Foreign Office and Dr. Abedi is an avid reader.
Consul Reinhardt is responsible for fostering cultural ties between Germany and the Pacific Northwest and her visit to campus was an opportunity for 草榴社区 faculty and staff to learn more about opportunities for academic cooperation and exchange with Germany.
Currently the department has an active student exchange program with the ; UDE student Ole Ostendorp just completed two quarters at Western and is on his way home to Germany after a very rewarding experience.
