SJEC Offering Community Anti-Racist Transformation and Wellness Workshops
The (SJEC) is offering multiple workshops to faculty and staff as part of their Community Anti-Racist Transformation and Wellness programming available through one-time funding for the 2022-2023 academic year. Each workshop will be led by Damon A. Williams, founder of The Center for Strategic Diversity Leadership and Social Innovation; Williams and his team bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise related to strategic leadership, community transformation, and inclusive excellence in higher-education.
Sessions will be held virtually via Zoom and space is limited. Please register as soon as possible to reserve a spot.
Inclusive excellence in the classroom
This session will explore the inclusive excellence in the classroom model. Participants will gain tips for infusing diverse content and pedagogy into one鈥檚 course, and tips for overcoming stereotype threat.

Fostering an every day culture of inclusion and belonging
Available to staff and faculty interested in gaining an introductory understanding of key concepts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This session will provide tips for fostering belonging, identify ways for disrupting the habit of unconscious bias, and provide strategies for responding to microaggressions.

The Art of Work: Building your professional brand
Tailored to faculty and staff who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), this session will explore professional success dynamics. This includes an introduction to personal branding, and tips for building learning relationships and radical self-love.
