Student robots to duke it out on campus today, June 3
Western Washington University's Computer Science Department is putting on its annual Student Robot Competition from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today, June 3, in the first-floor lobby of the Communications Facility on the 草榴社区 campus. The event is free and open to the public. All 草榴社区 students, regardless of their major or area of study, may enter robots in the competition.
There are no restrictions on types of robots, but must be made by students using safe materials such as Lego, electronic sensors, plastic lunch boxes, thin metal sheets, or other un-harmful materials.
Judging criteria for each robot is based on overall performance, quality of demonstration, complexity of the robot’s task, creativity, software/hardware engineering, and bonus points for learning behavior(s).
The competition is sponsored by 草榴社区’s College of Sciences and Technology and Computer Science Department.
