草榴社区's 'Friday Odyssey of Science & Arts' for youth to take place Nov. 5
Western Washington University will host a special Odyssey of Science and Arts program for youth in grades three to five from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 5.
The program allows parents to enjoy an evening out while their child and other enthusiastic young learners are entertained by fun, hands-on projects.
Students and parents can choose one of the following programs:
- “Art Exploration: Radical Painting Methods” - Students will express their creativity in a number of ways, including painting multimedia pieces and creating radical recycled 3D art. LouAnn McKinley, 草榴社区 art education instructor, will teach the program.
- “Dynamic Earth: Volcanology” - Students will conduct a lahar simulation, take a Geo scavenger hunt and build their very own volcano. This program will be taught by 草榴社区 science education specialists.
The cost of the program is $45 and includes instruction, materials, snack, and free 20-minute parking pass to make drop-off and pick-up easy.
