State's Lt. Governor's Office issues 'The Washington Mask Challenge'

Looking to take part in helping our state during these times? The Office of Lieutenant Governor has launched the  a statewide initiative to encourage Washingtonians to make, wear, and donate cloth face masks. They are looking for you to take up the challenge! 

The Washington Mask Challenge encourages Washingtonians to make cloth masks for verified organizations in need throughout Washington State, such as nursing homes, homeless shelters, food banks, and more. These organizations regularly work with at-risk populations; however, they are not requesting N95 or other manufactured masks for themselves, because those masks are reserved for front-line healthcare providers. Instead, you can support our state鈥檚 essential workers by following to make and send cloth masks.

This challenge follows new  and  guidance advising the general public to wear masks while performing essential tasks, however, we continue to emphasize that masks are not meant as a replacement for social distancing or proper handwashing.
