Student art on display in Wilson Library

Three exhibits of student art are on display in Wilson Library at Western Washington University:

Jon-Erik Jardine's work is on display in Gallery 3 through Jan. 28 in an exhibit titled “Forest in Motion.”

Jardine is a senior at Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies, and this exhibit is part of his senior project.

The exhibit is a collection of digital photographs that Jardine has deliberately blurred. The photographs, mounted on wood, depict light-filled forest settings. By using the natural resource of wood as a medium for display, Jardine explores creative ways to share and connect to an ancient relationship between humans and the rest of nature.

This series of 5 lithographic prints contains the artist, Debbi Kenote, in figurative representation, and, moving from left to right, tells a story of reflection.

This set of three oil paintings, also by Kenote, explores the notion of decay and the female body. The subjects in the paintings are sailboats, abstracted and visually explored.

Kenote is a senior in the art department and a member of the sailing team.
