Student signatures thank local police
Western Washington University students last week collected more than 1,000 signatures in Red Square last week as part of an effort to thank the local law enforcement agencies that responded to the riot near campus Oct. 12.
Western President Bruce Shepard and ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Associated Students President Carly Roberts . Cards will be sent to the Bellingham Police Department, the Whatcom County Sheriff, ²ÝÁñÉçÇøÂ Police and the Washington State Patrol, according to the editorial.

More than 3,000 people have also signed an online petition condemning pledging their support for Western's true values. .
