Student Tech Fee Accepting Tech Initiatives Abstracts

The Student Technology Fee (STF) Tech Initiatives Committee is accepting Tech Initiatives abstracts for the current academic year. Tech Initiatives are simple, one-page descriptions of your technology idea. All Western employees and students on the Bellingham campus may apply. 

Abstracts from employees are due by Jan.10. Abstracts from students are due by Jan. 17. The is on the (). 

The Tech Initiatives portion of the fee pays for technology projects鈥攑roposed by employees and students鈥攖hat support the Student Technology Fee mission. 

The STF mission: 

The Student Technology Fee provides Western students with adequate and innovative technology experiences by: 

  • Broadening/enhancing the quality of the academic experience, 
  • Providing additional student access to technology, and 
  • Increasing integration of technology into the curriculum. 

Tech Initiatives make up 12.43 percent of the Student Technology Fee, or $4.35 of the $35 quarterly fee.
