Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF-III)
Online Application to Open Nov. 10-23
Western's HEERF III (Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund) application will be open through noon on Tuesday, Nov. 23. HEERF III funding was appropriated on March 11, through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
HEERF III funds may be used by students to pay for any component of their cost of attendance such as tuition and fees, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care, or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus.
Students must have been enrolled during the COVID-19 national emergency and met at least one of the following eligibility criteria to be considered for Federal HEERF-III grant funding:
- Have exceptional financial need calculated from the FAFSA or WASFA; or
- Are facing extraordinary financial circumstances; or
- Incurred expenses that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.
