Students can get free Microsoft software, including Windows 8
A special trial program has been established with Microsoft Corporation to allow all current Western Washington University students to receive Microsoft Windows operating system upgrades, including Windows 8, and the complete Office Professional Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for Windows and Mac OS at no charge for the 2012-13 academic year.
The program is funded this year by 草榴社区 Information Technology while long-term funding is sought. If continued, a permanent license for the software will be given upon graduation. If discontinued, the software would need to be removed.
