Students invited to study abroad in Rwanda this summer
Western students of all levels and majors are invited to participate in an international service-learning experience in Gashora, Rwanda, during summer quarter 2014. The course will explore the history and cultures of Rwanda through a nine-week program that includes intensive pre-trip preparation and seven weeks in the country. Students will actively collaborate with in-country experts on the implementation of selected service-based field experiences.
Through this faculty-led study abroad course, students will:
- Learn about the cultures, politics and development in rural Rwanda
- Engage in meaningful service-learning projects to support local development initiatives
- Discover how to nurture and sustain international partnerships
- Actively live and contribute in a global society
- Apply learning for positive social change
