Western Washington University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, in association with Student Theatre Productions, presents “Festival 3-3-3 (Three Premieres, Three Shows, Three Bucks)” at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 and at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, both in Western’s Old Main Theater.

“Festival 3-3-3” will feature readings of three new plays by �������� students Hannah Bochart, Lyssandra Norton, and Sammy Scott. Tickets for each show are $3 at the door; all readings are open to the public.

Sammy Scott’s original play “I Appreciate William” will show at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. “I Appreciate William” explores a world set in the not-so-distant future, where emotion and expressions have been outlawed and a young woman’s sudden and illegal love for her newborn son threatens to upset a seemingly perfect society.

“Self Composed,” written by Lyssandra Norton, will show at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.13. Amidst the clutter of their respective bedrooms, two teens struggle with each other, the concept of normalcy, and their own identities in the smart new play, “Self Composed.”

Hannah Bochart’s “Dreamwriter: A Curiosity” will show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.13. The love child between Orpheus and Eurydice and Alice in Wonderland that is “Dreamwriter: A Curiosity,” hurtles a harried writer almost literally headfirst into an otherworldly land on a quest for a long lost love who may be dead, or may never have existed in the first place.
