Who is eligible for a bus pass?
Students registered for 1 or more classes on campus are automatically charged the Active Transportation Fee and receive an unlimited-ride bus pass.
Employees receive an unlimited-ride bus pass as an employee benefit.
Current WAWU employees who are not charged the Active Transportation Fee can opt-in for a free pass .
Students taking asynchronous, online, or classes not based on 草榴社区鈥檚 Bellingham campus can opt-in to the Active Transportation Fee and receive a bus pass .
I have a physical Western Card, do I need to redeem a benefit code?
No, you can continue using your physical Western Card and there is no need to do anything at the start of each quarter to activate your bus pass.
Western is transitioning to a digital Western Card. All incoming students this school year were issued a digital Western Card. The transition to a digital card will take 4 years to implement, as each incoming cohort of students is issued their Western Card. Students and employees who wish to go digital with their Western Card and bus pass can do so by following these instructions: / .
