Record heat wave breaks Bellingham鈥檚 all-time mark for hottest temperature

The record-breaking heat wave Whatcom County has endured the past few days is now officially the hottest Bellingham has ever seen. And we鈥檙e likely not done yet.

As of 3:15 p.m. Monday, June 28, the National Weather Service recorded a temperature of 99 degrees at Bellingham International鈥

Blue skies appeared overhead and the sun shone for the first time in several days, but the air remained at unhealthy levels Tuesday, Sept. 15, across Whatcom County and the entire Puget Sound region.

鈥淭here is some clearing and the wind at the upper levels is blowing quite a bit,鈥 said鈥

The foot of fluffy snow that blanketed Bellingham Sunday turned to a slush, watery mess on Monday.

Thanks to a light rain that fell over most of Whatcom County, storm drains clogged and the weight of heavy snow toppled trees and limbs.
