Vikings eke out 64-63 win to advance to Final Four

The Western Washington University men's basketball team won a thrilling 64-63 victory over Midwestern State University this afternoon to advance to the NCAA Div. II Final Four. The Vikings will take on Stonehill College on Thursday, March 22.

After falling behind 11-0 and 16-2 to start the game, the Vikings rallied to tie the contest at 27 headed into halftime. The second half was a seesaw affair; the Vikings' largest lead of the half was five points after a Rico Wilkins trey put them up 53-48 with 6:58 to go.

Western was led by the 15 points of Rory Blanche. John Allen had 14, Richard Woodworth 13 and Paul Jones 12. The MSU Mustangs were led by the 21 points of David Terrell.

Down 1, Midwestern State had the ball as time expired but could not get off a shot in time.
