Welcome to the new Western Today!
Welcome to the first edition of the new and improved Western Today! The Office of University Communications has completely revamped Western Today to take advantage of multimedia technologies and to better disseminate the stories it publishes. You will continue to receive daily Western Today e-mails in your inbox, but, as you can see, links now direct you to the new Western Today Web site, which contains video, audio and other content about faculty, staff and students at Western. Also, the great news you will see in each edition of Western Today is stored and archived for easy retrieval later on.
I encourage you to take time and review all of the new features the new Western Today has to offer. Check out the Knowledge Bank for news about each of the colleges on campus. Visit the faculty and staff profiles area to learn more about the guy next door or the woman across campus. And check the announcements for tidbits that matter to you as a member of the 草榴社区 community.
This new product is part of our effort to retool the way we tell Western’s story. When we stopped printing FAST earlier this year, we looked for a better way to ensure that all of you still get the information you need. We hope that this combination of FAST Online and the daily Western Today e-mails serves that purpose. We encourage you to help promote your work and that of your area by submitting your news to the new Western Today; simply click on the "Submit News" link at the top of the page.
I'd like to thank John Thompson and Matthew Anderson for their excellent work in creating this new Western Today and ask that if you have any questions, concerns or comments, that you please direct those to John or Matthew at the Office of University Communications at news@wwu.edu or ext. 3350.
