Western Caregiver Weekend Events set for March 4 and 5

On March 4 and 5, the Caregivers & Parents Group at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø (CAP) will host events supporting caregivers at Western. Join us to celebrate family and our shared experiences over the past few years. We look forward to seeing you. 

 

Brigid Collins Parenting Presentation - Growing Resiliency 

Brigid Collins is a local nonprofit Family Support Center. They provide families with knowledge, community groups, and a parent academy. Megan Brown Douglas MSW, LICSW, Brigid Collins Director of the Parenting Academy, will join Western CAP remotely to present Growing Resiliency. We know resiliency is not a static trait or the inevitable outcome of adverse experiences. How can parents support development of resiliency in these uncertain times? Join us for an overview and exploration of resiliency in children. Takeaways include frameworks for resiliency and practical tips for everyday parenting.

Family Park Play Date 

Join CAP members and other Western families for a few hours of play at Squalicum Creek Park – rain or shine. We can play on the playground, throw some pitches on the baseball field, and participate in a book swap. Bring your bikes, strollers, balls, and a book for the swap. Coffee, hot chocolate, and name tags will be provided.
