Western Dance Students to Perform Nationally Acclaimed Work and Original Pieces April 23-26

Western Washington University Dance students will perform an excerpt from Liz Gerring’s “glacier” as a featured part of the “Dance in Concert” showcase at 7:30 p.m. on April 23-25 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 on the Mainstage of the Performing Arts Center.

Gerring’s glacier is a modern dance piece that has earned critical acclaim in the national press since its premier in September 2013. ’s “Dance in Concert” will also showcase original and collaborative works by faculty members Nolan Dennett, Penny Hutchinson and Rick Merrill.

The Dance program has fostered a relationship with Gerring’s company, which has been in residence at Western, as well as supplying dancers with multiple workshop opportunities with members of Gerring’s company.

Tickets to the “Dance in Concert” performances are $15 for general admission and $8 for students, faculty and staff of Western. Reservations can be made online at or by calling (360) 650-6146. Tickets are also available at the door.
