Western Guitars to hold free concert May 19 in the PAC
This year's Western Guitars in Concert, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19 in the PAC Concert Hall, will feature music of Debussy, Bellinati, and Piazzolla and Seavello. A special feature for this year’s program has the entire ensemble premiering a piece written for them by ensemble member and Western composition student Isaac Seavello.
Seavello’s piece, “Study for Donuts,” is a seven-minute work for Guitar Orchestra with 12 different parts; this is unusual orchestration even for guitar orchestra. In addition to the orchestral piece, the program will feature solos, duos and a trio.
