The is now available for Western Washington University student, faculty, and staff input. As a reminder, Western Libraries does not have to make any subscription cancellations this year, but is moving forward with continuing a deliberate, strategic, annual review of subscriptions to ensure that the university’s subscriptions portfolio remains dynamic and relevant–especially in the context of Western’s curriculum, growth, and emergent needs.  

Students, faculty, and staff can visit the to see the subscription review list, learn more information about how the list was generated, and find instructions on how to submit input.  

Departments are not required to submit single, unified responses; instead, students, faculty, and staff have until Sunday, March 6 at midnight to submit individual feedback. Faculty, staff, and students may also continue to , which will feed into next year’s review.  are also available to meet with any interested department, institute, or group, to answer questions and hear feedback. We hope people will take every opportunity--individual or departmental--to communicate their needs. 

In late winter and early spring, the Libraries will examine the feedback and explore the possibility of voluntary subscription swapping. We will continue to communicate updates via the ; the and Western Today; department chairs; faculty governance and other leadership groups; all-faculty emails; and the Libraries’ Subject Teams.
