Western Washington University will offer “Web Design and Development: Level II - Introduction to WordPress” to students, staff, faculty, and community members Jan. 12 through March 16.

The nine-week evening course combines face-to-face sessions with online correspondence to introduce participants to publishing content as posts and pages, categorizing and organizing content, using plugins and widgets, installing WordPress themes, and making basic edits to an existing theme.

Participants will apply the weekly lessons towards building their own WordPress website. Some knowledge in using HTML and CSS is preferred as a pre-requisite to the course.

Introduction to WordPress is a non-credit course ideal for those who envision themselves starting their own business; marketing products online; designing, developing or maintaining one or more websites; simply wanting more advanced web and WordPress management skills; or seeking employment and career skills in a web-design field.

Registration for Introduction to WordPress ends Jan. 7.
