BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s Weekend MBA @ Everett program will hold an information session at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the University Center of North Puget Sound Gray Wolf Hall Room 160, on the campus of Everett Community College.
The flexible, every-other-weekend program is ideal for professionals who have busy lives and wish to advance their current leadership positions in private, public and nonprofit organizations. The program meets 20 weekends per year with traditional quarter breaks. Because class size is limited to 20-30 students, there is a high degree of interaction between students and faculty.
Designed for individuals who seek career advancement, job security and upward mobility, Western’s MBA program graduates have found jobs at global corporations including Amazon, Microsoft, MSNBC.com, United Airlines and Boeing.
Weekend MBA student Shannon Affholter, vice president of Business and Economic Development at Economic Alliance of Snohomish County and Everett City Council member, said the flexibility of Western’s Weekend MBA @ Everett program makes it practical.
“The MBA program is helping me become an even stronger leader. Because classes are every other weekend, I get to pursue my graduate degree and still maintain my busy professional and family life,” Affholter said.
Western’s Weekend MBA program is AACSB accredited, placing it in the Top 5 percent of business schools in the world, and ranks in the top 100 MBA programs worldwide by the Aspen Institute.
Western MBA Program Associate Director Daniel Purdy said the MBA has become the gold standard in today’s competitive business environment, signaling to an employer that the holder has initiative, intellect, ability and desire to be a manager.
“Quite simply, an MBA has the ability to differentiate you in a very crowded workforce,” Purdy said.
