EVERETT – Western Washington University is holding two information sessions for its Everett-based Master in Business Administration (MBA) program from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 and Tuesday, July 26 at University Center of North Puget Sound’s Gray Wolf Hall, Room 380, 2000 Tower St., Everett.

Classes will begin in January 2012.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply now to ensure all enrollment requirements are met by the application deadline of Nov. 15.

This is to be the second cohort for the MBA program, which has proven popular with students who appreciate the weekend-based class schedule and the instructors who are full-time faculty members of Western’s College of Business and Economics.

"The convenient location, outstanding instruction and flexibility of meeting on alternating weekends provide students the opportunity to balance work, family and their pursuit of an MBA. The program is tailored to meet the needs of professional working adults," said Juergen Kneifel, a current MBA student in ’s Everett program.

Another current Everett MBA student, Krista McCabe, said, “I considered all the factors I could think of: small cohort size, general business degree, flexibility and reputation of program, cost, the every-other weekend schedule, location, ease of application process. I had considered other MBA programs and nothing could really offer the combined package that Western could.”

The Weekend MBA program at Everett meets Friday afternoon-evening and all day Saturday, every other weekend for five weekends per quarter for eight quarters, with traditional quarter breaks. Western has positioned its MBA program to be affordable and it is intended for managers and professionals. No particular specialization or management level is required, which enables the program to attract a diverse group where different perspectives enrich the learning climate.

Administered under the direction of Craig Dunn, associate dean and director of Graduate Programs at CBE; and Dan Purdy, associate director of MBA Programs, the program has served to further expand, throughout the Puget Sound Region, Western’s reputation for excellence. The first cohort of this 2-year, 64-credit program will graduate Fall Quarter 2011.

The MBA Program has been offering graduate business education in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years. ’s program is AACSB accredited, placing it in the top 5 percent of business schools in the world, and has been ranked in the top 100 programs worldwide by the Aspen Institute.
