In its 2012 survey of incoming freshmen, the Office of Survey Research at Western Washington University asked students to step back to when they were completing their college applications and recall what college was their first choice to attend.

More than half of Western’s freshmen considered Western to be their first choice of schools. Second was the University of Washington.

This list shows the 19 most frequently cited “first choice” schools by Western freshmen.
