Woods Coffee renews partnership with Alumni Association

Woods Coffee announced recently that it's continuing its partnership with the Western Washington University Alumni Association for the seventh year, in addition to the funds raised through the sale of the Viking Blend roast to benefit Western scholarships.

Woods Coffee roasts the Viking Blend in its Lynden roastery and then sells it at all Woods locations. With every bag of Viking Blend sold, Woods Coffee donates $1 towards scholarships for Western students.

The sale of Viking Blend has generated $2,000 toward Western scholarships so far in 2015.

Every “Western Wednesday,” all Woods Coffee locations offer free drip coffee to Western students and alumni who bring a sustainable mug and wear Western apparel (lapel pins included). In addition, Woods donates coffee to be served on campus on the last Western Wednesday of every month.

With this Western Wednesday promotion, Woods has given away 1,974 cups of free drip coffee in store and donated 18 gallons of coffee to Western’s campus, this year alone.

“Woods Coffee is proud to continue our partnership with Western Washington University,” said Wes Herman, owner of Woods Coffee. “Apart from just free coffee, we see this as a way to give to our community by providing scholarships for 草榴社区 students.”
