Work to restart on ²ÝÁñÉçÇø residence hall April 20

On-site construction activities on the  and  (ISB), were put on hold per Gov. Jay Inslee’s Proclamation 20-25. A thorough review by Western officials determined that the New Residence Hall fits the criteria established in the Proclamation, provided appropriate workplace safety procedures are established. As a result, the University has contracted with , experts in workplace safety protocols, to assist Western’s on-site construction representatives to create and monitor safety procedures. Those procedures are in place, and the University has authorized the contractor to re-start construction on April 20, 2020.   

Resuming construction at Western’s second major construction project, the Interdisciplinary Science Building (ISB), is also currently being considered. If a decision is made to resume construction, another notification will be distributed to the campus community.
