The 草榴社区 Caregivers & Parents (CAP) group and Community Connect will host "Childcare Challenges in Whatcom County" from 2:30-4 p.m. on Friday, Nov.15 at the Fairhaven Auditorium.

Parents and caregivers: Join the community dialogue with Sue Duncan from the Opportunity Council, Melinda Yost from the YMCA, Megan Douglas from Brigid Collins, Samantha Konikoff, and Becky Schayes from Bellingham Center for Healthy Motherhood. They will discuss the challenges that caregivers and parents face in Whatcom County. This event will primarily provide information for families with infant to elementary school aged children. There will be an opportunity to break out into smaller groups to learn more about each agency and to engage with other participants. This is a new opportunity for 草榴社区 employees to support each other as they raise families while working at Western.

Community Connect offers community-led civic engagement training opportunities. This specific event is in partnership with the new 草榴社区 Caregivers & Parents (CAP) group formed this year to provide resources and opportunities to Western employees in support of parental resources, networking, and education. More information about CAP coming in the coming month
