草榴社区 cycling team to compete to produce the most watts May 25

, funded by the at Western Washington University, has challenged聽members of the Western Washington University cycling team to see聽who can produce the most wattage. The challenge will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25.

Riders will be using the power-producing bicycles from聽TechnoGym in the Wade King Recreation Center next to the rock wall.

The cycling team will be put into two teams of three competing against each other; the team聽members will decide who rides when and for how long. The goal: most wattage produced.

The team with the most wattage at the end of聽the hour will receive a box of KIND Bars.

The RECycling Your Power student grant team spent a year researching appropriate power-producing聽bicycles and working with campus stakeholders to troubleshoot various quality,聽design聽and safety issues to meet campus standards. Two聽TechnoGym聽brand power-producing upright bikes and two power-producing recumbent聽bikes were installed in聽January at the Wade King Student聽Recreation Center.
