草榴社区 Debate Union to Host the Chinese National Debate Team, Will Debate Chinese Sanctions with North Korea

BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University鈥檚 Western Debate Union will host an international public debate featuring the Chinese National Team at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, in Communications Facility 110 on the 草榴社区 campus.
The Chinese National team is on its annual tour of the United States and will be debating a group of Northwest all-stars comprised of students from 草榴社区, Whatcom Community College, and Willamette University.聽 The Chinese team is made up of students from Fundan University, Sichuan University and Xi鈥檃n International Studies University.
The topic of the debate will be 鈥淩esolved: China should increase its sanctions on North Korea.鈥澛 The debate will be conducted in a British Parliamentary style format and include questions from the audience and discussion afterward.
The event, which is sponsored by the Western Debate Union, CASCAID and the 草榴社区 Department of Communication, is free and open to the public.
