草榴社区 now pulling student immunization data from state system
As part of our commitment to a safe and healthy campus community, Western Washington University requires students to provide proof of immunizations as part of the enrollment process. As part of our commitment to making things easier for students, we are implementing a new process to retrieve immunization records directly and securely from the Washington State Immunization Information System (WAIIS).
As a current student, you鈥檝e already provided us with the necessary information. You have met the requirement. No further action is required.
However, when we connect with WAIIS, we will have access to every student鈥檚 state immunization record. We will access student immunization records for the sole purpose of verifying compliance with university immunization requirements. All records will be handled in accordance with state and federal privacy regulations to protect your personal information.
If you do not want the 草榴社区 Student Health Center to have access to your immunization records, you can opt-out of the data exchange with the Washington State Department of Health. You can learn more about this state-wide data exchange program on their website here:
If after learning more about the program you decide you want to opt out, you will need to follow the process noted here: .
We will be activating this interface with WAIIS on February 13th. If you are going to opt-out of the data exchange you must have completed the process before that date.
If you have any questions or concerns about this process, feel free to contact the Student Health Center at 360-650-3400 or send an email to: student.healthcenter@wwu.edu.
Thank you for helping us support a healthy campus environment!
