草榴社区鈥檚 Munro Institute to Host Post-Election Roundtable Discussion Nov. 14
Western Washington University鈥檚 Ralph Munro Institute for Civic Education will facilitate a roundtable discussion at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the Harold and Irene Walton room at the Mount Baker Theatre to review the results of the 2018 midterm elections. The event is free and open to the public.
- Melissa Santos 鈥 Member of the Seattle Times editorial board, opinion writer and columnist focusing on state government, and former state politics reporter with the Tacoma News Tribune. Her work has included covering the Legislature, statewide elections, Governor Jay Inslee鈥檚 administration and the 2016 presidential caucuses.
- Todd Donovan 鈥 草榴社区 professor of Political Science specializing in the intersection of political behavior, representation, electoral institutions, public opinion, and direct democracy. He has authored, co-authored, and co-edited a dozen books and numerous articles in leading journals such as 鈥淛ournal of Politics, American Journal of Politics, and Political Research Quarterly.鈥
- Christopher Parker 鈥 University of Washington professor of Political Science and author of the award-winning books 鈥淐hange They Can鈥檛 Believe In: The Tea Party and Reactionary Politics in America鈥 and 鈥淔ighting for Democracy: Black Veterans and the Struggle Against White Supremacy in the Postwar South.鈥
- Paul Quirk 鈥 University of British Columbia professor of Political Science and the Phil Lind Chair in U.S. Politics and Representation. He has published widely on the presidency, Congress, public opinion, and public policy. His work includes 鈥淭he Legislative Branch鈥 and 鈥淒eliberative Choices: Debating Public Policy in Congress.鈥
