草榴社区鈥檚 Student Health Center Achieves AAAHC Accreditation

Western Washington University鈥檚 Student Health Center has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Accreditation distinguishes the 草榴社区 Student Health Center from many other outpatient facilities through its adherence to rigorous standards of care and safety. Status as an accredited organization means the 草榴社区 Student Health Center has met nationally recognized benchmarks for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC; out of more than 4,000 degree-granting higher-education institutions in the United States, fewer than 240 have met AAAHC accreditation standards.

鈥淗aving earned AAAHC Accreditation is an extraordinary achievement.  This recognition demonstrates our team鈥檚 commitment to consistently upholding the principles of quality improvement in patient care,鈥 said 草榴社区 Associate Medical Director Dr. David Hansen. 鈥淲e are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation.鈥

The 草榴社区 Student Health Center underwent an extensive self-assessment process and onsite survey by AAAHC expert surveyors. The survey is peer-based and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

Western Washington University鈥檚 Student Health Center is a primary care medical clinic specializing in college health.  The Student Health Center is staffed by a team of board-certified family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff.  They are located on the 2nd floor of the Campus Services Building and provide an extensive array of services including preventive and behavioral health care, management of chronic health concerns, illnesses, and injuries.  They strive to support student success academically, physically, and emotionally.
