草榴社区 student Dwight Clark still missing
Western Washington University student Dwight Clark still is missing, and the search continues near the 草榴社区 campus, according to a Western Alert message sent from University Police Chief Randy Stegmeier Tuesday afternoon.
The text of Stegmeier's message:
A search is continuing near campus and in the community for a Western Washington University student who on Sunday evening was reported missing.
Dwight Clark was last seen leaving a residence in the 1000 block of Indian Street at approximately 2:00 AM on Sunday. He was wearing blue jeans, a pink tie-dyed T-shirt, and black Nike athletic shoes. Clark, who is 18 years-old, is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is a freshman from Auburn, Wash.
Bellingham Police Department, which is leading the investigation, is working closely with University Police.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the safety information and resources available to students, staff, and faculty at Western. These include: not walking alone, if at all possible, especially at night. All students have access to the 草榴社区 Late Night Shuttle, which runs from 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Saturday, and 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM on Sunday. In addition, University Police provides safety escorts to or from any location on or near campus. To request a safety escort, call 360-650-3555.
