²έΑρΙηΗψ to Host 'Friday Odyssey of Science & Arts' for Youth Nov. 5

BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University will host a special Odyssey of Science and Arts program for youth in grades 3-5 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. on Nov. 5.

The program allows parents to enjoy an evening out while their child and other enthusiastic young learners are entertained by fun, hands-on projects.

Students and parents can choose one of the following programs:

Β·Β Β β€œArt Exploration: Radical Painting Methods” - Students will express their creativity in a number of ways, including painting multimedia pieces and creating radical recycled 3D art. LouAnn McKinley, ²έΑρΙηΗψ art education instructor, will teach the program.

Β·Β Β Β β€œDynamic Earth: Volcanology” - Students will conduct a lahar simulation, take a Geo scavenger hunt and build their very own volcano. This program will be taught by ²έΑρΙηΗψ science education specialists.

The cost of the program is $45 and includes instruction, materials, snack, and free 20-minute parking pass to make drop-off and pick-up easy.
