草榴社区 to host Mick Moloney and Athena Tergis March 28 in the Old Main Theatre

Western's Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies will host Irish traditional musicians Mick Moloney and Athena Tergis at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28 in the Old Main Theatre. 

Moloney and Tergis have been musical collaborators for over 15 years. Both members of "The Green Fields of America," they have also performed in many different iterations on stages across the globe as well as collaborated on five albums and the documentary film "Absolutely Irish."

Moloney combines the careers of professional musician, folklorist, musicologist, teacher and arts presenter and advocate. He is an accomplished singer as well as an instrumentalist and possesses a vast storehouse of songs and instrumental pieces from the Irish and Irish-American tradition.

Tergis was born in New York City and raised in San Francisco. She showed a love and talent for the violin at an early age. She has been featured as principal fiddler with the Broadway production of Riverdance, and was the principal soloist on a tour with the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra.
