Statistics from Western Washington University's performance in the knockout phase of the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize competition have been posted online. As of now, information from the highway and urban efficiency tests is available, and more data will be posted as it comes available.

According to team members, the team from ²ÝÁñÉçÇø's Vehicle Research Institute achieved the equivalent of 82 miles per gallon on its efficiency events, despite penalties that resulted in a reduction of 10 MPGe. Without those penalties, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø would have achieved 92 MPGe. The minimum amount needed to pass through to the finals was 67 MPGe.

Some vehicles are still completing the efficiency tests, so data from ²ÝÁñÉçÇø's competitors may not yet be online.

The next competition event for ²ÝÁñÉçÇø is the range test on Friday, June 25. To clear that hurdle, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, which is in the alternative side-by-side class of the competition, must achieve a range of 68 miles (34 laps). After the range test come the emissions and dynamic safety tests, which take place through Wednesday, June 30.
