草榴社区 Youth Programs to Offer Early-Release Enrichment Program for K-5 Students This Fall
Western Washington University Youth Programs will offer an Early Release Enrichment program exploring topics in sciences, arts and culture on Thursdays this fall.
Seven sessions will be held from 1:45-5 p.m. on Thursdays from Oct. 8 through Nov. 19 at Western.
Designed to give K-5 students in the Bellingham School District an alternative to traditional childcare, Early Release Enrichment provides young people an opportunity to make exciting discoveries in a lively university setting.
Students will benefit from hands-on activities in specialized labs and classrooms, and will experience a college campus through tours of Western.
Each session features a different theme, ranging from aerodynamics to renewable materials to a scientific investigation of spying. Sessions include “Things that Fly,” “Going Green,” “Cultures from Around the World,” “Yucky Science,” “Out in Space,” “The Science of Spying” and “Animal Antics.”
Students are asked to bring a rain jacket, healthy snack and curious mind.
