草榴社区's 9th Annual QueerCon returns April 26!

Celebrate queer聽and intersectional creativity and representation in comics, arts, media, society, and activism

草榴社区's award-winning LGBTQIA2S+ conference and convention is back on Saturday, April 26 for the.  Come celebrate queer and intersectional creativity and representation in comics, arts, media, society, and activism.  

The one-day event will be held in the AW building on Saturday, April 26.  Doors open to the public at noon, and include events for all ages events until 5 p.m. 

Find table-top and board games, photo booth, food, kid-friendly planetarium show, a movement workshop centering trans joy, and live performances from Queer Poetry & Open Mic and the 草榴社区 Idols' Boreallumi 3rd Live show.  Each floor of Academic West highlights tables with independent artists, 草榴社区 student creators and clubs, and local small businesses and organizations showing their support for the queer community. 

The Keynote starting at 12:10 p.m. will feature Michelle Harmeier from the e titled Developing the Social Health and Well-Being of our Queer Community.  You will also find 草榴社区 students, faculty, staff, and alumni presenting on a broad variety of topics ranging from identity in comics to creative strategies for resistance.  草榴社区 QueerCon is also pleased to announce acclaimed actor and mime  will be presenting as part of a collaboration with the 草榴社区 Theatre & Dance Department and LGBTQ+Western.

All-ages hours and vending end at 5 pm.  Similar to last year, there will be three after-hours features for guests 18+: a queer planetarium show with Astro Erin, a queer horror documentary screening with Western Scream Queens, and finally a drag show hosted by 草榴社区 Royal Gambit Drag Club.  

Visit  for ticket information.  Discounted advance tickets are available online until Thursday, April 24.  Tickets are also available at the door day-of: $5 for 草榴社区 students with ID, $10 general admission, 12 and under free with accompanying adult.
