Sponsored by the College of Fine and Performing Arts Dean’s Office, the performance is a special addition to the series lineup.  Proceeds will support the maintenance of the brand new nine-foot Steinway Ford Hill Concert Grand piano.

The evening program will feature works by Debussy, Britten and Stevenson, Ravel and Schubert.

Inon Barnatan has impressed audiences around the United States and Europe with his poetic and passionate music making, communicative performances, and engaging programming.  In 2009, he was awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious prizes in classical music.  While recognized as “a born Schubertian” by Gramophone magazine, Barnatan is just as passionate about contemporary music and regularly commissions and performs music by living composers.  Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Barnatan studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London before moving to New York City in 2006.

In addition to his evening recital, Barnatan will also conduct a free master class from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, in the PAC Concert Hall.

Concert tickets are $16 general; $13 seniors, faculty and staff; and $9 students. Tickets can be purchased through the Box Office; a limited selection will also be available at Village Books and the Community Food Co-op.
